What this article seems to lack.

[edit]

In my opinion, this article lacks the formality Wikipedia is looking for mainly because in the history section, it just looks like stuff copied from other sites. Which, more or less could be a form of plagarism, unless the authoir of this article got permission to copy the stuff from those sites. WHat needs to be done is that it should be reworded, so it doesn't look like it was copied directly, and blah blah blah. That's just my opinion on this matter.--65.145.232.187 22:29, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Yob-logo.png

[edit]

Image:Yob-logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I take exception to the use of a copyrighted logo as fair use. Please see the guidelines set forth at WP:FU, especially 1, 3, and 8. 8 (Notability) is obviously debatable here, but I'm of the opinion that a logo will not help differentiate a band more than the plain text would. Replacing the logo with plain text as a free alternative helps further the goal of reducing the amount of non-free content on Wikipedia to a minimum. Please see similar debates on Nirvana (band). I feel I should point out this section of the musical artist infobox talk page, where it was decided that logos are indeed (for the most part) acceptable. The logo on this page is not just there to "look cool", it helps with visual identification and is definitive of the band. Nirvana is a slightly different case. = ∫tc 5th Eye 03:08, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, Just letting you know that the link to the band Dirty Sanchez unthe history section is not the correct Dirty Sanchez, though the name is the same. The Dirty Sanchez referred to in the article is a hardcore band in Eugene, Oregon, and not the LA electroclash band to which it is linked. 2601:1C2:1B81:4B10:99CB:7:527B:339 (talk) 01:33, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, that is of course, in the history section, and not "unthe" as incorrectly written. 2601:1C2:1B81:4B10:99CB:7:527B:339 (talk) 01:35, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
