[edit]A few notes on my recent edits, lest others take offense (or more likely offence). The URL given on the box is yorkshiretea.co.uk; the other sites simply link to the this site and have little or no information of their own. (Also, there are no apostrophes in either Bettys or Taylors.) And I reverted the seemingly Commonwealth English "Taylors have" because of its awkwardness to American ears and the fact that the company uses singular verb construction on its website (which is clearly designed for UK readers and thus I assume is using Commonwealth English).
Also, am I the only one who thinks the anecdote about Safeway adds little and should be removed? Or at least substantiated? I defer to the judgement of others. Severinus 05:22, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- As The Times is now subscription based if a new reference can't be found it needs removing. I did have a quick Google but didn't come up with anything. --wintonian talk 23:23, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:YTea.gif
[edit]Image:YTea.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Picture of teabag
[edit]Hello. I have re-added my picture of a Yorkshire Tea bag, which was removed in 2010 without much explanation by an unregistered account with just seven edits. I had added the picture in in 2007, and everyone seemed to be happy with it. Please explain here if you think the picture should be removed. I have a hunch this may simply have been vandalism... Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 19:40, 5 July 2014 (UTC)
- It has been removed yet again. This is annoying.Zigzig20s (talk) 07:11, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
Celebrity
[edit]I am an idiot and I admit it. Due to a medication screw up, I have actually, truly, lost cognitive function, so please forgive me here. I just noted that the wikipedia article for Angela Lansbury says she is a fan of Yorkshire Gold as well and I don't know if that should be added here or how to do it. I am posting so someone smarter can make the call. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.132.244.135 (talk) 06:30, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Yorkshire Tea hits back at far-right YouTuber who praised the brand for not tweeting about Black Lives Matter - telling her 'please don't buy our tea again' YouTuber Towler, who's previously shared an image of Oswald Mosley drinking Yorkshire Tea on her Instagram page, received a stern response from the brand The company wrote: 'Please don't buy our tea again' and said it was taking time to 'educate ourselves and plan proper action before we post' Global Black Lives Matter protests have been taking place since the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25th

Use of the world "Romanticised"
[edit]This admittedly unimportant comment is to ask about the use of the word "Romanticised" is relation to the "romanticised images of the Yorkshire Dales" that appear on the packaging. Although there is one meaning of "Romanticised" that suggests that the collage of images present a story which is correct, regrettably in modern times the word "Romanticised" is more likely to mean (to Wikipedia readers) that the artwork on the box is somehow a nostalgic dream of what Yorkshire was once etc etc.
I can claim, with vast quantities of self gathered photographic evidence that the box of Yorkshire Tea is so accurate it is closer to Photo realism than any impressionism or romanticism. Yorkshire is HUGE and the area of mill chimneys and Lowrey (far more romanticised) is very small when compared to the rural area. If I look out of my window right now I can see a view which looks as if it's off the Yorkshire Tea Box. I could drive from this point for two hours solid and all the landscape I passed through would be like the Yorkshire tea box. The sheep, the dry stone walls, the Cricket, the Houses, the colour of the landscape are totally realistic on the box. I feel that calling this "Romanticised" is some kind of wrong and indeed negative assumption that all this beauty has gone from the world. I am not a Wiki Editor. This is a recommendation. Andy
- Thank you for your comment. That sentence was unsourced and probably original research, and I have removed it. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 16:51, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
Many Thanks Malcolmx. Andy
Availability outside the UK
[edit]Having failed to take enough Proper Tea with me on a lengthy trip to Abroad I was delighted to find Yorkshire Tea on sale in the branch of Safeway in Smithers BC. Same box save that it was labelled “Orange Pekoe” and, as far as I could tell, same taste too. Mr Larrington (talk) 00:10, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
