You (film) → You (2009 film) – To disambiguate with at least two other films titled "You". ToThAc (talk) 19:30, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 21:25, 18 February 2019 (UTC) @ToThAc, Born2cycle, and Station1:
- The move of this article from You (film) to You (2009 film) was requested as a technical request. I moved the request to the Contested section because there is a potential primary topic issue. Per the dab page there are two other conflicts, but You (1954 film) redirects to She (1954 film) and the Canadian You (2007 film) is so obscure the article is barely more than a stub. The page view stats favor the 2009 film overwhelmingly. --В²C ☎ 19:42, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- I agree. You (2007 film) can be moved to Toi (film), which is how it's known at IMDB, Rottentomatoes, TCM.com, and the Montreal Gazette. That will avoid any title conficts. Station1 (talk) 20:57, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- Unsure about the suggestion to move You (2007 film) to Toi (film); I can find a number of English-language sources for that title, including Variety: [1][2][3][4][5][6]. PC78 (talk) 23:48, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, but per WP:NATURAL, when there is more than one common name used in reliable English-language sources, we can use the alternative name in order to avoid unnecessary artificial disambiguation. Most of the sources cited mention Toi as an alternative name. The difference between You (film) and Toi (film) seems to me to be a clearer distinction for most readers than the difference between You (2007 film) and You (2009 film), especially for those seeking the overwhelmingly more popular English-language film. - Station1 (talk) 06:10, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

- Oppose per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC per the above. And I say leave the obscure You (2007 film) where it is. --В²C ☎ 23:52, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Partially disambiguated page name, and not so well-known or significant to make a primary topic exception. PC78 (talk) 00:01, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support per WP:INCDAB. The WP:PRIMARYTOPIC guideline does NOT apply to parenthetical disambiguated titles. You (film) should redirect to the DAB page. -- Netoholic @ 00:11, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support per PRECISE. You (film) is ambiguous and should redirect to You_(disambiguation)#Films. —SmokeyJoe (talk) 04:44, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support per WP:INCDAB - agree with Netoholic that primary topic does not apply to disambiguated titles. --Gonnym (talk) 07:57, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support per WP:INCDAB WP:NCFILMS WP:TITLE. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:10, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support per all the above. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 09:22, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support Per IIO, PDABS have generally been rejected and are confusing. As В²C says to leave You (2007 film) where it is then this title fails WP:PRECISION. Crouch, Swale (talk) 10:32, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support per nomination, PC78, Netoholic, SmokeyJoe, Gonnym, In ictu oculi, Lugnuts and Crouch, Swale. As for the Quebec drama, it should remain at You (2007 film). Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 20:10, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
