Taungdwingyi is a town of Taungdwingyi Township in Magway District in the Magway Division of Myanmar. People inhabited this area since thousands of years ago and one of the earliest civilization of Myanmar, Beikthano Ancient Pyu City, is located near the town. Economic of this area is based on agriculture and trading agricultural products. Once several years ago, this area has deep teak forest and timber industry was highly developed and you will new see that all teak trees were magically disappeared. Transportation seem to be good by the figures because it was connected to large Divisional city Magway to the west, Pyay to the South and Naypyidaw to the East, by means of territorial road and railways. Historically famous poets and writers were born in this region. The four monks of Shin Ohnnyo, Shin Khaymar, Shin Oakdama and Shin Maha Rahtathara, Shin Nyeinmae and Khingyi Phyaw are the famous poets and writers of Ava Dynasty.
