Tejashwi Prasad Yadav (born 9 November 1989) is an Indian politician and former cricketer. He was the fourth Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, in Nitish Kumar government after 2015 assembly election for twenty months. [1]
Early life and personal life
Yadav is the second eldest son of the convicted former chief minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav who was awarded 5 years rigorous imprisonment in the Fodder Scam by CBI court.[2][3] He has studied a and passed only up to 8th class, he dropped out of school without completing his basic school education after he failed in 9th class. He has been criticised for becoming Education Minister of Bihar despite being 9th fail.[4][5][6]
Cricket career
Prior to his plunge into politics, Yadav was a cricketer, who played as middle-order batsman in one Ranji Trophy match and two limited-overs games for Jharkhand. He was also a part of the Delhi Daredevils for its 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012 Indian Premier League seasons.[7]
Political career
He was elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly from the Raghopur constituency as a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal in 2015.[8][9] He became deputy Chief Minister in Bihar govt from Nov 2015 till july 2017, where his elder brother Tej Pratap was also a minister in the Bihar government.<ref name=ie1>
