  • ... that as part of Chinese weddings, the groom may be made to swallow pungent wasabi, chilli padi and bitter tea, before receiving the bride at her family home? Source: "they were made by her five bridesmaids to eat seaweed smeared with wasabi from one another's mouths. They also ate chillies ... Mr Sho... [drank] bitter tea" ([1])

  • Interesting hook and an interesting article (as a Southeast Asian myself, this would make a good DYK). Article is of an appropriate size, with no copyright violations detected. All statements are adequately sourced or verifiable. However, the "Naming" and "Typical components" sections should probably be in prose from instead of being a list. In addition, have you made more than five DYK nominations? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:23, 17 September 2017 (UTC)
Narutolovehinata5, when you're reviewing a nomination, at the top right of the page there's a handy tool called "QPQ check" in the "DYK toolbox." This is Goh wz's first DYK, so no QPQ is necessary. --Usernameunique (talk) 18:25, 17 September 2017 (UTC)
Thanks guys for the review and comment! I converted the Typical components section to prose. The Naming section is already in prose, just organised as a list. This is my first DYK, and would be happy to contribute back to the project when I learn the ropes. —Goh wz 04:30, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
@Goh wz: Almost there; it would probably be better to convert the Naming section to a non-list section. Once this is done, this will be accepted. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 04:38, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
Done, thanks —Goh wz 05:15, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
