Elisabet Höglund
[edit]- ... that Swedish journalist Elisabet Höglund is a former road bicycle racer?
ALT1: ... that Swedish journalist Elisabet Höglund was fired from her job as host of the television show Förkväll?- ALT2: ... that Swedish journalist Elisabet Höglund hosted the television show Förkväll between 2009 and 2010?

- I'm not keen on the second hook about her being fired from her job, so this is a review for the first hook. Article, hook length and article creation date are fine. The two sources for the hook are in Swedish, e.g. here, the relevant part of which Google translates as: "I am an old sportswoman. Won Championships in cycling both in 1971 and -72." And here: " Elisabet Höglund is a journalist and former racing cyclist who won the Championship in cycling in 1971 and 1972." I can't see where it says "professional," unless that's implied by the winning of that particular championship.
Re: the article: I would call her Elisabet Höglund once, and thereafter Höglund. It looks odd to switch between them, at times almost as though you're discussing two people. Quite a few copy-editing issues, e.g. "During the summer of 2008 Höglund was as [sic] a Middle Eastern correspendent and was placed in Amman, after this Elisabet Höglund quit her job at SVT after working there for 25 years.[7] And she started working as a freelance journalist." And the next sentence is "work" instead of "worked," and then things like "four book" and "pained in oil". :)
The DYK criteria don't say anything that I can find about writing, but I would say this would really benefit from an extra copy edit before being nominated. Once you've done that, if you want me to take a final run through it, just give me a shout. SlimVirgin (talk) 01:08, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
- I have done the edits you asked me to do. Concerning the professional cyclist hook it is implied because she won several Swedish gold medals in the 70s. But we can always change hook.--BabbaQ (talk) 11:24, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

- Hi, I replied to your post on my talk page before I saw this, so I'll just link to it here. SlimVirgin (talk) 19:53, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

The article seems to be a translation of the Swedish article and has followed that format, but it's a little unclear. For example, you say in section 1.2. that she was raised in an orphanage, so that should be at the top in Early life; does that mean she was adopted, and why are her parents names in the lead: should they not also be in an Early life section? The awards are still in Swedish. And it's not clear what this means: "Two of her books are mainly directed at a female audience. [In what way?] Höglund is interested in genus [gender?] and equality questions."
I don't mind if someone else wants to jump in to review this, by the way. SlimVirgin (talk) 20:47, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
- Think I have now covered all the latest feedback you gave. --BabbaQ (talk) 22:02, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
- I was asked to review this, so had a quick read through. Seems reasonably ok, though I can't check the sources. I'll leave it to SlimVirgin to make the final decision. Paul MacDermott (talk) 19:08, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Paul, I'd prefer if you (or someone else) went ahead and decided. I've been having trouble with Google translate, which seems not to be able to translate several of the sources. SlimVirgin (talk) 19:12, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
- No worries. As I can't translate them either, I'll accept this in good faith. It's been through quite a few copy edits, and the length checks out. I'd favour using the original hook over Alt2 as the television programme is probably not familiar to most readers, but the final decision obviously rests with the promoter. Let's say it's good to go.
