Georg Poplutz
[edit]... that the tenor voice of Georg Poplutz, performing the complete works by Schütz with the Dresdner Kammerchor, has been described as "finely scaled, appropriately clear, purely focused and idiomatic"?
Created by Gerda Arendt (talk). Nominated by Gerda Arendt (talk) at 11:09, 21 June 2014 (UTC).
- New enough, long enough, well referenced. No close paraphrasing seen in English-language sources; foreign-language sources AGF. Hook ref verified and cited inline. Two questions: Where's the QPQ? And why are you listed as both creator and nominator? Yoninah (talk) 22:37, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
- Reviewed Lágrimas Cálidas, the other I don't know, - trying to remember I think I forgot to fill editor first, - I guess it was late ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:44, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
- Not sure about the hook, Gerda; firstly, I suppose his voice would always be like that (he doesn't go all screechy and out of tune when he isn't singing the complete works by Schütz with the Dresdner Kammerchor) so the hook would need rephrasing, and, secondly, that is a review of all the singers, so although his voice is included in that description, it hasn't been described individually. Maybe just rephrase the hook? (I'm sleepy, but I'll see if I can think of something tomorrow. Or dream about it tonight. What an exciting dream that would be!) Or get a third opinion from less of a b***h (that's me, not Yoninah; Yoninah seems very nice) Belle (talk) 00:19, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
- I would like to say something about his voice, and this is the only comment I found in English, and it is precise and a good description. He sang with us, so I know, but "our" review was simpler, as usual, - you have a lot to write about ... - Mentioning the Schütz project tells people that he isn't an Italian operatic hero, but a vocal ensemble group person, - good to know, no? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:11, 26 June 2014 (UTC)

... that the singing in the complete works of Heinrich Schütz, which tenor Georg Poplutz, performed with the Dresdner Kammerchor, was described as "finely scaled, appropriately clear, purely focused and idiomatic"? - There's an ALT anyway (It didn't come to me in a dream unfortunately). I don't know whether "singing" is right in the ALT though. We musical idiots call it singing. Belle (talk) 11:23, 26 June 2014 (UTC)

- Don't call yourself anything "idiot", please, ever ;) - singing is the best term for what a singer does, however, the source speaks about his voice, and I don't know if we change that much. I like the link to the singer to be the first in the hook, and best no other at all. I was told on DYK not to link Bach, for example. We can't say "performed", because that sounds like past tense, but the project is ongoing, planned to 2017, a major undertaking. This is volume 8. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:52, 26 June 2014 (UTC)

- From the lead; not sure if it's all sourced in the article:
- ALT2:
... that German tenor Georg Poplutz, who specialises in Baroque music, also sings opera, oratorio, and Lied?Yoninah (talk) 11:42, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
- This is something you could say about hundred singers ;) - reminds me that I should eventually write a lead, possible tomorrow, I have little time today, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:52, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
- I expanded the lead a bit. Can we use a German review for translated wording? Please improve:
- ALT3: ... that tenor Georg Poplutz, a soloist in recording the complete works of Heinrich Schütz, created a "cosmos of emotions" in Schubert's Winterreise? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:25, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
- Nice. I fixed the grammar in ALT3 ("complete works "of", not "by"; cosmos of "emotions", not "feelings". Foreign-language hook ref AGF and cited inline. QPQ done. ALT3 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 18:58, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks, helpful! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:21, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
