Guadeloupe conference
[edit]... that leaders of the participating countries in the Guadeloupe Conference concluded that there was no way to save Muhammad Reza Pahlavi?
- Comment: Article moved from sandbox on January 25, 2016.
Created/expanded by Saff V. (talk) and Yash! (talk). Nominated by User:Saff V. (talk) at 07:11, 26 January 2016 (UTC).
- This really needs some serious copyedit to fix a considerable amount of non-english grammar. Can we put a hold on this one to give the author some time to get it patched up? Maury Markowitz (talk) 20:02, 17 February 2016 (UTC)
- There is simply no progress at all on this nomination. While the nominator is active elsewhere, this article has not been touched by a soul since February 3rd, even though BlueMoonset has pinged him twice, even suggesting a relevant Wikiproject to him which could help him rewrite the article. Even though I'm sympathetic to Maury Markowitz's plea to give the nominator some time to rewrite the article, nine days have gone by since Maury's comment in which nothing at all happened.—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 12:26, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
- ALT1 ...that Guadeloupe conference played a key role in the success of the Iranian revolution and overthrow of the last monarch of the Pahlavi dynasty?
- How about this? Yash! 19:35, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
- Definitely a huge step in the right direction (Yash!, you're awesome for stepping in to save a failing DYK), but one concern remains outstanding: I don't see evidence of a QPQ done.—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 22:24, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
- QPQ by Saff V.? Instead of him, if I review another nomination and add my name above along with Saff V.'s, would that be fine Amberrock? Yash! 02:24, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
- I reviewed 3 DYK and reviewing 1. You can see my DYK in my user page.Saff V. (talk) 05:26, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
- I remember someone doing the same way back. I don't remember which nomination or user was associated with such though. I have completed reviewing Template:Did you know nominations/Holy Island War Memorial and added my name above. Best, Yash! 02:57, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
- Excuse me for delay in answer to your comments. I nominated the article for copy edit.Saff V. (talk) 05:24, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
- Alright, I will give it a few more days to see whether the Guild of Copy Editors has anything meaningful to add or change. Next week, it's time for a definite approval or rejection - since this has dragged on long enough.—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 11:40, 27 February 2016 (UTC)

- There were some issues that appeared in the wake of the GoCE copyedit. The article had to be moved in order to correctly reflect the capitals in the name. Yash, you also added a book source which was called "Jimmy Carter the Liberal Left and World Chaos: A Carter/Obama Plan That Will Not Work". As you can probably imagine, such a source is not really NPOV and therefore doesn't truly count as a neutral description of history. I have decided to eliminate that source from the article. Unfortunately, the remaining source ("Iranian Irony: Marxists Becoming Muslims") does not in fact justify the claim of the sentence "Historians claim that Guadeloupe Conference played a key role in the success of the Iranian revolution". This is a problem that needs to be addressed, because the entire paragraph hinges upon the link between the Conference and the Revolution. Removing the paragraph altogether would put this DYK under the required minimum for DYK nominations. So yeah.. this does need to be looked at once more.—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 20:16, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
- Ah, I understand. I did a quick search in Google books for this. I will look for proper sources stating the fact (if there are any) tomorrow. Give me a day and I will see what I can do. Thank you for your patience with this nomination. Best, Yash! 20:43, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
- Amberrock, I tried and did not find an exact source so I made some other changes and may I suggest ALT2:
- ALT2 ... that Muhammad Reza Pahlavi, the last monarch of the Pahlavi dynasty, left Iran for exile nine days after it was suggested at the Guadeloupe Conference?
