  • ... that the Kazachye Cemetery (pictured) takes its name from Cossacks killed during the July Days in the Russian Revolution? Source: "Первые захоронения перед папертью Троицкого собора начались в 1917 году - это были могилы казаков, погибших при разгоне большевистской демонстрации в июле 1917 года. Соответственно кладбище и называлось - Казачье." - "The first burials in front of the porch of the Trinity Cathedral began in 1917 - these were the graves of the Cossacks who died during the dispersal of the Bolshevik demonstration in July 1917. Accordingly, the cemetery was called - Kazachye [Cossack]." ([1])
    • ALT1:... that after years as a high status burial ground for communists, the Kazachye Cemetery (pictured) regained its original name in 2009? Source:"Кладбище постепенно стало приобретать статусный характер и стало вторым по значению большевистским некрополем города после Марсова поля" - "The cemetery gradually began to acquire a character of status and became the second most important Bolshevik necropolis of the city after the Field of Mars." ([2]) ; "В 2009 кладбище переименовано в Казачье." - "In 2009, the cemetery was renamed Kazachye" ([3])
