  • This article appears to be properly cited, no plagiarism, within policy, indeed a new page. Awesome! One thing though: not all parts of the hook are directly cited. I'm referring to the 'pioneer' word and working with Lord Flea.—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 19:08, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
Thanks AmberRock. The article does mention his work with Lord Flea - "..his earliest recordings being Lord Flea's "Naughty Little Flea".." As for pioneer, I'm not sure what other word to use here, in my opinion it's a fact backed up by the quotes and evidence, e.g. "[Khouri had the] foresight to develop the industry, y'know, build the studio, build the pressing plant. He was...the lynchpin of the whole thing." — Hillbillyholiday talk 19:31, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
I'm being dense, I just realized you need source for Lord Flea - can do.. Hillbillyholiday talk 19:33, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
  • I can accept your explanation for the 'pioneer' thing, but you need a better source for the Lord Flea mention than you just proved. A hardly visited personal web page written in Comic Sans MS is not a credible source, I'm afraid. Alternatively, you may also scrap that guy from the hook because the rest is appropriately sourced. It's up to you. —♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 07:50, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
I can see how the comic sans in the source may mislead you, but I have been in personal contact with the author in regards to Lord Flea in partcular (and mento in general), because he has interviewed Flea's daughter in connection with his extensive article. He has worked for nine years on that website, researching in an area which is notoriously difficult in terms of concrete dates and facts. Trust me, the site is very comprehensive and very well sourced - Michael Garnice is probably the authority on mento music. Hillbillyholiday talk 08:02, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
Also, if you look at the pictures of Lord Flea's discs on this website (and others), you can see that some were produced by Ken Khouri's "Times Records". Hillbillyholiday talk 08:24, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
Try this source Reggae Heritage: Jamaica's Music History, Culture and Politic [1] - amazingly it uses the word "pioneer" and talks of Lord Flea in the same paragraph! Hillbillyholiday talk 08:32, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, that source seems delicious! If you can cite page 200 of that book at the mention of Lord Flea (and possibly at an instance of Khouri being called a pioneer as well), I will support this nomination.—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 12:33, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
I added the ref to the Lord Flea bit, and put in a new sentence with 'pioneer'. Hillbillyholiday talk 12:51, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
I tidied the references a bit with the Webreflinks tool. That's the final stretch; I guess the article is ready!—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 20:52, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
