Mistigri (card game)

[edit]
The "Mistigri"
The "Mistigri"
  • ... that Mistigri is a German card game named after the French word for "kitten" given to its highest trump, the Jack of Clubs? Source: "Die Besonderheit des Spiels is aber der Mistigri (französisch: die Mieze...). Das ist der Kreuz-Bube..." in Grupp, Claus D. (1975). "Mistigri" in Kartenspiele. Falken-Verlag Erich Sicker, Wiesbaden; pp. 24–25

  • Everything is good except QPQ. Please ping me that's done so I can approve. L293D ( • ) 15:26, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
  • @Bermicourt: Now that I read through your hook again, its a bit confusing. In French, a Jack is pronounced "valae" and Mistigri is pronounced as it is spelled. Is your hook saying the Jack is called kitten in this game? L293D ( • ) 13:29, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
  • The French word "mistigri" has various translations but means something like "kitten", "kitty" or "pussycat" (Mieze in the German source used). On reflection I think that "pussycat" is better as it isn't necessarily a young cat. To make the whole thing clearer, how about this alternative:
  • good to go. L293D ( • ) 18:40, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
  • @L293D: Everything is good except QPQ is not a full review. Please provide a review that explicitly confirms that the five main DYK criteria have been met. An optional Reviewer's Template is located above the edit window. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 16:25, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
  • I thought the green check took care of indicating that I had checked and approved the DYK, but here's my review: Long enough, within policy, new enough, hook cited, interesting, and short enough, image appropriately licensed. L293D ( • ) 03:11, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
  • Is this a bad joke or a DYK infection of QPQ-related comments? Yes, his QPQ has been done too. L293D ( • ) 03:20, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
  • Thanks, L293D, everything's fine with this review. I've struck the hook that's not being used, and also tweaked the hook that is. Yoninah (talk) 22:22, 10 November 2018 (UTC)
