Perla Farías

[edit]
  • ... that Venezuelan-American television writer Perla Farías has been a key player in changing the format of the telenovela? Source: several, in article

5x expanded by Kingsif (talk). Self-nominated at 20:25, 15 June 2019 (UTC).

  • @Kingsif: Expanded appropriately, QPQ completed, and long enough. However, the hook is vague, does not appear in article, and is not cited to a specific source. This hook will need to be edited or replaced. StudiesWorld (talk) 14:59, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
I'd argue it is in the article, but not in such a short phrase, i.e. the second paragraph of the Career section. No DYK requirement is a single source. If you think it's vague, feel free to rephrase as "...is the telewriter who started the down-using of classic telenovela stereotypes from primetime telenovelas and introduction of more diverse and unique story themes", though that moves into territory of ridiculously clunky and non-hooky. Kingsif, how about something more concrete such as:
ALT1: ... that Perla Farías has created telenovelas, such as Juana la virgen and La Reina del Sur, that avoid classic stereotypes?
That seems to capture the idea while being more concrete. StudiesWorld (talk) 16:58, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
Sure, I didn't feel it necessary to namedrop the shows, but it works. Kingsif (talk) 17:27, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
Kingsif, I'm neutral on that aspect. I'll let another reviewer take a look. StudiesWorld (talk) 17:51, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
  • New reviewer needed to take a look at the hooks per the previous reviewer, who cannot review their own ALT hook, which I've numbered ALT1. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:06, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
  • This article is new enough and long enough. The hook facts in ALT1 are cited inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright or plagiarism issues. I am also approving ALT0 as I think that the hook facts are indeed present in the article. A QPQ has been done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:41, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote ALT1, but I am confused by the article wording. It seems to say that after she created La Reina del Sur, she began steering Telemundo into producing telenovelas that avoid classic stereotypes. Yoninah (talk) 00:35, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
  • Yep, making La Reina del Sur "progressive" was risky, but after this was successful she was able to do the same thing a lot more and made more creative decisions along those lines. Kingsif (talk) 12:37, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
  • OK. Restoring tick per Cwmhiraeth's review. Yoninah (talk) 21:20, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
