  • I've struck ALT2 as it was over 200 characters and thus would not be acceptable for DYK purposes. However, I think the idea behind it is fine and I wouldn't oppose a hook about her refereeing and also being a player. ALT1 might be too niche to those unfamiliar with rugby league (and considering Wembley is more associated with association football instead of rugby league, it might even cause confusion). No comment on ALT0 other than perhaps it being... I don't know, inappropriate? Otherwise the article seems like a pass at first glance.   • Thanks. The article appears to meet requirements for length, newness and paraphrasing, and a QPQ has been done. ALT2b is the best option here. I do want some clarification though. The hooks says she was the first female referee in the men's Super League, but the BBC source I checked said she was an in-goal judge. I admittedly know little about rugby league, but it is my understanding that a match referee and an in-touch judge are two different positions right?   • @Narutolovehinata5: No change needed. Maybe a comparison will elucidate? While "the" referee is the one running about the pitch, all match officials (including in-goal judges) are referees; a sous chef or a line cook may not be "the" chef, but they are a chef. So, someone being the first French chef to work in X restaurant isn't dependent on whether they're in charge of the kitchen or not; someone being the first female referee isn't dependent on which refereeing position they take. Okay, I think ALT2c solves my concerns. While I do have some slight reservations about no mention of her being active in rugby league, I suppose "Super League" should be a hint to readers. It's just a minor concern anyway and doesn't affect the article for DYK purposes. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 14:55, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
