The Boat Race 1989[edit]

  • ... that the 1989 Boat Race was the first time in the event's history that both coxes were women?

Improved to Good Article status by The Rambling Man (talk). Nominated by Matty.007 (talk) at 13:09, 25 July 2014 (UTC).

  • Promotion to good article status on July 23 satisfies recency requirement. Article is also long enough and employs in-line citations. A spot-check finds no problems with plagiarism, copyvio, unduly close paraphrase. The hook is short enough and plenty "hooky" with its female coxes. The hook fact is cited to an off-line article from The Times; AGF as to off-line source cited by established editor The Rambling Man. No QPQ required, as this hook is not a self-nomination.
