Troy Alexander

[edit]

* ... that Canadian football player Troy Alexander was selected in a bonus round of the 1995 CFL Draft?

Created by BU Rob13 (talk). Self-nominated at 16:42, 18 May 2016 (UTC).

  • Article is new enough and long enough. It is written in a neutral tone with sufficient citations. Assuming good faith on hook and paraphrasing since all cited sources are offline; however, the person and their basic tenure are confirmed through online search. QPQ complete. For the hook, it would seem more noteworthy to mention that he was the fourth overall pick of the draft. Otherwise, I was thinking he was a late pick in a "bonus" round. Also, should Montreal Alouettes in the infobox have an asterisk?—Bagumba (talk) 06:24, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
  • @Bagumba: Yes, the asterisk was missing. Added now. I have no real problem with changing the hook to exclude the bonus round, but I don't think it would be very interesting. I almost didn't even nominate this for DYK due to a lack of anything quirky in the article, but I thought the existence of a "bonus round" of the draft was a bit neat. ~ RobTalk 10:29, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
  • I wasn't thinking to remove the bonus round, maybe something like "... was selected in a bonus round of the 1995 CFL Draft with the fourth overall pick?"
  • Ah, I misunderstood. How about this alt? ~ RobTalk 02:28, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
ALT1: ... that Canadian football player Troy Alexander was selected in a bonus round of the 1995 CFL Draft as the fourth overall pick?
  • Good to go. AGF on hook as sources are offline.—Bagumba (talk) 02:35, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
  • Since Bagumba provided the wording for the hook, here is an independent verification: Offline ALT1 hook ref AGF and cited inline. Rest of review per Bagumba. ALT1 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 21:09, 26 May 2016 (UTC)
