- The hook is not mentioned at all in the article Alt Camp (no mention of calçots in Alt Camp), so I don't think it should be considered DYK. I removed Alt Camp from the hook. Based on Valls alone, the article is (more than) 5x expanded, around 1700 characters from previous 276, it is neutral, sources are cited, neutral enough, QPQ ok. I do think there's still room for improvement. I've corrected few wordings but I think the tradition of calçotada needs to be elaborated because it is kind of unclear what calçotada means. I also think that the human towers castells, despite it being mentioned in one of the very first sentence, doesn't get as many spotlight as Roberto Gerhard and calçots. Please improve the article by elaborating on the calçotada and castells first.--Rochelimit (talk) 13:45, 4 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for reviewing the article. I do not believe the hook fact needs to be mentioned in both articles (a matter that has come up before in DYK discussion) and I have reinstated Alt Camp. As for the improvements you suggest, I will see what I can do, but I do not believe they are a requirement for DYK. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 14:15, 4 November 2015 (UTC)
- Cwmhiraeth, I was asked by Rochelimit to comment on the issues raised in the nomination. First, although it may seem counterintuitive, as you note, previous DYK discussion has established that a hook fact in a multi-article nomination does not have to be in all the nominated articles, but it has to be given (and inline sourced) in one article. So the original hook meets that set of criteria (I've struck ALT1). However, I'm not sure about the word "famous", which strikes me as overstated based on the article and the given source. I think ALT1's "known" matches article and source better ("known" is in the Valls article's lede). I agree with with Rochelimit about both "calçotada" and "castells" needing more explanation in the Valls article; it feels incomplete as is and I think WP:DYKSG#D7 applies here. The lede gives three things the town is known for: "calçots", "castells", and Gerhard. Talking about the first, the "calçotada" is alluded to, but it seems to be a particular form of feast or meal that starts with "calçots" and goes on from there, so having mentioned it, it needs to be explained. The "castells" should have a short paragraph of their own in the Culture section as calçots and Gerhard do; the lede's "human towers tradition" is simply not enough, even with a wikilink. Finally, the Alt Camp article has a stub template at the bottom, and articles at DYK shouldn't. This is easily remedied. I would like to see the final sentence of Alt Camp's Geography section cited, since the information is so particular, and the earlier sentence "The mountain slopes are clad in shrubs and marquis." reads a bit oddly to me, both for the word "clad" and for the unfamiliar word "marquis", which I couldn't locate in any dictionary except for the noble rank meaning, which this clearly is not. - You are quite right, the articles were written in haste and had deficiencies. I think I have addressed all your concerns ("marquis" should have been "maquis") except for the last bit of the Geography section of Alt Camp. This came from the completely unsourced Catalan Wikipedia, and I can remove the sentence if you want. I now suggest ALT2. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 07:01, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

- I'm happy with Valls now, and ALT2 looks fine, but Alt Camp has a problem: if that last unsupported sentence is removed—and I think it may have to be absent a new source—then the article falls below 1500 prose characters. The "shrubs and maquis" sentence still reads oddly, since maquis is a (typically evergreen) shrubland biome; it's like saying "clad in shrubs and shrubland". (I still think "clad" sticks out as a bit poetic.) Is there nothing about the county's agriculture or industry? Transport? BlueMoonset (talk) 18:33, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
- I've made some alterations to Alt Camp. Sorry to be a nuisance, with the WikiCup over, my enthusiasm for high-scoring DYKs like these has waned. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 19:16, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
- Alt Camp is now long enough at 1736 prose characters and the previous issues have been dealt with in both articles. ALT2 is supported by Valls in all hook facts, and in Alt Camp for the relationship of the two places, which is sufficient. Both expansions started October 1, the date of the nomination, both are 5x expanded, and both articles exceed 1500 prose characters. Neutrality of both articles and the hook are fine, and no close paraphrasing noted. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:32, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
