WestJet Encore

[edit]
  • Reviewed: Robert and Anne Dickey House
  • Comment: there was a fair use image, which I removed for DYK. I, personally, like the hook but believe that ALT1 should be used because it has more general interest. Being a DYK newbie, I am exempt from QPQ review but I did one in good faith in order to be a good Wikipedian.

  • (Comment, not a review) @Vanguard10: DYK does not require all the images in an article to be free, just that any image on the main page to accompany the hook must be free. So, I think it should either be put back or the use rationale for WestJet Encore on File:WestJet logo 2016.svg should be removed. Chris857 (talk) 18:19, 9 February 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for the info. I was told this for my TWA Hotel DYK but I now better understand it. Vanguard10 (talk) 04:28, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
General: Article is new enough and long enough

Policy compliance:

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: No - Source's reliability is hard to determine. Is this a typical source used in airplane articles?
  • Interesting: Yes
QPQ: Done.

Overall: Coffee // have a ☕️ // beans // 09:57, 15 February 2018 (UTC)

additional references from news sources added as well as clarification asked to the reviewer on their talk page. The references used in the hook is typical of aviation and airline articles. They are not sketchy sources. Vanguard10 (talk) 04:37, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes - Offline/paywalled citation accepted in good faith
  • Interesting: Yes
  • Other problems: Yes
QPQ: Done.

Overall: ALT0 is the ticked hook, and is the only hook for promotion. Coffee // have a ☕️ // beans // 04:09, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

  • Coffee, if you wish to use the AGF tick, the template instructions say that you need to use a status of "y"; the AGF tick comes from a status of "y" and a hookcited value of "AGF". Please adjust your second DYK checklist template as appropriate for the icon you want. Please also note whether you approved both the original hook and the ALT1 hook, or just one or the other. (Vanguard10 subsequently struck the original hook as they appear to prefer the ALT1 version; while we do give a certain amount of deference to their expressed preference, it's unusual to see an approved hook struck by its proposer simply due to preference as opposed to actual issues with its accuracy or sourcing.)
Vanguard10, for future reference, please do not add any comments in the DYK checklist template when you aren't the reviewer, but please place them after it. (I've moved your one comment out of the first checklist.) Also, you should never add a tick or other icon to the template of your own nomination. If you think the reviewer meant to include an icon, by all means ping them and ask them to place it themselves. (I have removed the tick you added, which also happened to be the wrong one if Coffee meant this to be an AGF pass.) BlueMoonset (talk) 04:06, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
  • Unstriking original hook and striking ALT1 per review by Coffee. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:12, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
