Lake Cities

[edit]

I'm confused. There was never a branch in between Detroit station (New Center) and Royal Oak, so how could the Lake Cities branch off from there? Did the train go up to Detroit station and then backtrack down the North Yard branch, through Bay City Junction, and then hop on the Detroit Line? In any case, the physical branch should be shown off the main route between Greenfield Village and Detroit, not Detroit and Royal Oak. Criticalthinker (talk) 17:39, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting question. This isn't a physical routemap; that's Template:Michigan Line and related. This is a service schematic. Craig Sanders doesn't discuss the physical route in Amtrak in the Heartland. Mackensen (talk) 18:59, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly which routing it took isn't clear, but it definitely reversed at Detroit. I've adjusted the diagram; it might not be perfect as far as the routing, but it's fine for a service diagram. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 00:54, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
