This is a very good idea for a template. I imporved it greatly using info I found from User talk:143.231.249.141. Contact me with any qustions.--michael180 22:10, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge with Template:SharedIP[edit]

The result was merge into {{SharedIP}}. —Elipongo (Talk|contribs) 03:08, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I propose a merge and redirect with Template:SharedIP. In January [1], I copied the text from SharedIP unknowing (because I saw it subset-ed somewhere). I made that change because many vandal IPs are shared through a corporation. However, not all are! - That makes it a sticky situation. But, because vandalip has one of those {{{1}}} things where you can insert information into the template, and because it says that the IP may be shared. It also may not be shared. Because the vandal ip template is on some IPs that are shared we need to mention that they are sharing their IP. So I think we should merge and redirect. The content here is already on SharedIP, so I think we should just redirect it to Template:SharedIP See [2] Thanks. --michael180 20:06, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure what is the procedure for requesting a merge of templates. Category merges are discussed at WP:CFD but template merges are somewhat different so I wonder if this should be listed at WP:TFD.
Also Template:Vandalip puts the pages in the category Category:IP addresses used for vandalism which seems to be different in sprit from Category:Shared IP. Hence there needs to be a wider discussion on how to resolve this. -- Paddu 20:59, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps instances of {{Vandalip}} can be categorised under Category:Repeat vandals by adding {{Repeat vandal}}? -- Paddu 21:03, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with both of the above suggestions. --michael180 00:52, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've set up the merge proposal.—Elipongo (Talk|contribs) 14:25, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
