Thai-Chinese International School (T.C.I.S.; Mandarin Traditional: 泰國中華國際學校, Simplified: 泰国中华国际学校, Pinyin: Tàiguó Zhōnghuá Guójì Xuéxiào; Thai:โรงเรียนนานาชาติ ไทย-จีน) is a private, non-profit day school in Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province, in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region of Thailand.[1] It was founded in 1995 for the purpose of providing English language education as well as Traditional Chinese language for the Taiwanese communities in Bangkok, as well as Thai and other communities. The school currently has circa 100 staff and teachers and 800 students. TCIS is located within a 15-minute drive from the Suvarnabhumi International Airport of Thailand.

History

The Taiwanese Ministry of Education previously oversaw the school and designated it as an overseas Taiwanese school. It removed TCIS from the list on February 1, 2006 since TCIS was unable to conform to the Taiwanese standards.[2]

Students

The students are multi-lingual.

Thai-Chinese International School offers a PreK-12 curriculum that draws from the American standards for the core curriculum. Since TCIS is a tri-lingual school, all students must take classes in Mandarin, Thai, as well as their core classes in English.
