During the 2012 Chaguo La Teeniez Awards, Affiliates were nominated for "Teeniez' Group or Collabo" along side Camp Mulla, P-Unit & Sauti Sol, M.O.G & Juliani. However they did not win the award which was held on 20 April 2012.[2]

After a years of perfecting their skills with some experimental projects, the group was later formed by WillX Affiliates, J-Star Affiliates and the late V2 Affiliates back in 2009. Even though they lost one of their members (V2) through a car accident back in 2011, they quote that Affiliates to them is like a family and their working together has enabled them to mature their skills as musicians and entertainers.
