This list, compiled when there were 1906 featured articles, is intended to list those articles that need regular updating. These typically cover contemporary events, current affairs and other "news" articles (such as articles about recent events and disasters). Typically, the full story of these events will not yet have finished. Rather than have a constant {{update}} tag on them, the idea is to identify these articles at the point they become featured and then help to ensure that regular updates are requested and written, to maintain the standards required of featured articles.

Got sidetracked into trying to pin down this category of featured articles. Of these, it is really only the ones on living people that need regular updating, though some of the articles about groups and some of the lists, are about living people as well.

Category:FA-Class biography articles contained 445 articles on 23 February 2008, of which some were lists, some were about groups of people (mainly musical bands), and some were single-person biographies.
