Introduction

[edit]

Inspiration

[edit]

Exping was inspired by founder Clu Soh’s personal habits.[4] He marked the coffee shops he visited between 2014 and 2016 on a map and shared those experiences via social media. This idea of translating personal tastes into map markers was further developed during the 2020 pandemic, culminating in Exping’s prototype app.

[2][5]

User Experience and Privacy Protection

[edit]

Exping focuses on user experience. Compared with traditional geographic information system (GIS) applications, it improves user friendliness by simplifying the operation process. At the same time, Exping emphasizes user privacy protection and encourages users to share their maps in private or controllable sharing spaces rather than publicly to protect the privacy of personal spatial information.[6]
