Colin Leonard is a Grammy-nominated American mastering engineer and musician.[1][2] He has worked with Beyonce, Cardi B, Jay-Z, Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, Megan Thee Stallion, H.E.R, Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Migos, among others.[3][4][5]
Career
[edit]Leonard took piano lessons as a child and began playing the drums when he was 12 years old. In his early twenties, he began playing in bands, producing music, and writing beats for hip-hop artists. He studied classical guitar at the University of the Pacific then attended Full Sail University, studying recording arts, where he graduated in 1997.[6] Leonard then moved to Atlanta with a couple of band members from his jazz/fusion band and started producing and mixing music.[7]
Leonard is the owner of the Atlanta-based studio, SING Mastering, and is the creator of Aria Mastering, the automatic analog mastering service with a robotic arm.[8][9][10]
He has mastered music for Justin Bieber, Lil Baby, Jack Harlow, Lil Wayne, Beck, Gucci Mane, and Future, among others. He has been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards and 10 Latin Grammy Awards[1][2][11]
