SSN Institutions initially started as Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering (SSNCE), is an education and research institution located in the Old Mahabalipuram Road, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
History
[edit]Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering was founded in 1996 by Padma Bhushan Dr.Shiv Nadar,Founder & Chairman of HCL Technologies was named after his father Sivasubramaniya Nadar.The institution was initially managed by Shri Sivasubramaniya Nadar Educational and Charitable Trust, a charitable trust which was started by Mr.Nadar and supported by family members.In 2009, a new management board comprising of eminent members from various walks of life was constituted to bring corporate professionalism into the institutions' functioning and attract outside funding for sustainability.[1]
It was affiliated to University of Madras during its initial days and is currently affiliated to Anna University.The Institution is certified with ISO 9001:2000[2] from Bureau Veritas Quality International.
Campus
[edit]Situated few kilometers away from the famous national heritage spot, Mahabalipuram, the sprawling 200 acre campus is awe inspiring, with start-of-the-art architecture and infrastructure. The extravagant auditorium, is fully air-conditioned and all the major events of the college are held here. The campus has also been a sought after venue for prestigious films' shooting.

[edit]The SSN Entrepreneurship Development Cell “Lakshya” was formed a few years ago with a handful of enthusiasts and has evolved over its short lifespan into a powerful student body that boasts of 700+ members, all of whom are active participants in various entrepreneurial activities undertaken by Lakshya. Lakshya has blossomed to life under the able guidance of the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) , a Dr.Romesh Wadhwani foundation whose wings spread far and deep into the student community across the length and breadth of India!
