"Hoy Me Voy" is a latin pop song written by Latin Grammy Award-winning colombian singer-songwriter Juanes for his fourth studio album, La Vida... Es Un Ratico (2007). The song was later performed by the singer on his live album La Vida... Es Un Ratico: En Vivo (2008), and released s the second single, after "Odio Por Amor".[1][2] The single version features American singer Colbie Caillat.
"Hoy Me Voy" received positive critical reception. Andres Arguello from The Hardvard Crimsom compared the song to Juanes' past hit "la Camisa Negra" in content, and stated that "Juanes’s voice comes through stronger than ever as he grieves over lost love, probably referencing his recent divorce."[3] he also gave La Vida... Es Un Ratico four stars out of five.[3]
On March 24, 2012, Juanes released the version of the song featured on his live albumJuanes MTV Unplugged. This new version features brazilian singer Paula Fernandes. This new version received positive critical response. Jordan Levin from Hispanic Business commented that Paula Fernandes' "burnished, golden voice merged beautifully" with Juanes' voice on the song.[5]
