The band received praise after their first public performance at Yash Complex, Gotri Road, Vadodara on 26 January 2009. Other performances followed soon after this.

They were officially disbanded in December 2011 with a chance of getting reunited in future.

Beginnings (2008)[edit]

The name of the band when it was created was Blades. It was founded on July 12, 2008 at Soor Malhar Classes of Music, Rajesh Tower Road, Vadodara, Gujarat, India. The mentor of the band initially was the owner of Soor Malhar Classes of Music, Mr. Vinit Rawal.

The band's formation was as follows:

Initial Performances and Expansion (2008-2009)[edit]

Blades, as it was called initially, were supposed to give their first live performance on August 12, 2008 in the band members' school assembly. However, their performance was forced to get cancelled as heavy rains prevented the commencement of the school.

Finally, Blades gave their first ever performance on November 28, 2008 in their school assembly on the song, Sinbad The Sailor from the 2008 Hindi movie, Rock On!!. The performance was average and the band received mixed to negative reviews on their performance.

Blades gave their first ever public live performance on January 26, 2009 at Yash Complex, Gotri Road, Vadodara. They received positive to mixed reviews for their medley performance. The band also earned INR 300 for the same. This was the beginning of the band's short but sweet journey to success.

The band was expanded as one more member was added in July 2009. He was Yug Shah, their classmate and an experienced classical vocalist. He replaced Tanay as the band's lead vocalist.

Rise to Fame and gaining of Experience (2009-2010)[edit]

Blades was invited to perform by an organization of a residential complex named Gangotri Flats, Gotri, Vadodara on August 8, 2009. The main mentor for this performance was the band member, Khyat Vasavada's father, Mr. Dipan Vasavada.

Blades collaborated with a local Tabla player to add a touch of classical music to their performance. This was the first collaboration with an outside person/association of the band. The performance was fantastic and the band got mainly positive reviews for the same. This was the turning point for Blades and fame embraced the band.

The band gave their 4th performance on the occasion of Teachers' Day on September 5, 2009 in their school assembly. They collaborated with their classmates for the same. The performance received mixed to negative reviews.

Blades was expanded further as three more members were added in late-August 2009. They were Ayush Goyal, lead and rhythm guitarist, Krutik Parikh, rhythm guitarist and Jay Dave, rhythm guitarist. With this expansion, the band participated in a local rock concert organized by RJ Kshitij of Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM on September 6, 2009. The band opened the concert by giving a fine performance. Their song, Vande Mataram was highly appreciated by the concert's crew. They even got standing ovation for the same.

Blades released their first single, Maa on YouTube on December 6, 2009. This was their first composition. It received mostly mixed reviews.

The band went through a couple of changes as Keyur Rana, Yug Shah, Krutik Parikh and Jay Dave left the band in late 2009. The band was relaunched as Equinox. Equinox gave their opening performance on August 5, 2010 in their school assembly and the performance was highly praised.

Last Performances and Disbandment (2011)[edit]

In 2010, Equinox gave only a single performance in their school assembly. The band took a break from August 2010 as they were busy in their Board examination's preparation.

On June 5, 2011, Equinox gave their comeback performance at Big Bazaar, 7 Seas Mall, Fatehgunj, Vadodara on the occasion of World Environment Day. Shreyang Vayeda, lead vocalist, was added to the band. Equinox collaborated with their ex-classmates for this performance. The performance received positive to mixed reviews.
