Vahagn Stepanyan (born July 10, 1985) is an Armenian-born music producer, arranger, songwriter, composer and keyboard player, Grammy voting member. Worked with several well-known musicians and was engaged in the production of over 30 albums as an arranger, songwriter or keyboard player. In 2015 Stepanyan has produced his debut album Moonlight[1]. Composed soundtracks for over 10 films.

Early life and education[edit]

Born in Yerevan, Armenia, Stepanyan was enrolled into a music school at age eight for classical piano lessons. He attended Yerevan Tchaikovsky High School, a special school for music, and Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory where he earned a bachelor's degree in classical music.

Acitivities[edit]

Following his graduation from the conservatory, Stepanyan began composing, arranging and recording soundtracks for films. Throughout the years he has appeared on over 200 projects as a music producer, songwriter, composer, recording engineer and/or keyboardist and has collaborated with artists from over 30 countries through studio work, tours and writing, including Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" song, bass guitarist Nathan East, Eric Marienthal, Eric Moore, Henrik Linder, Melvin Lee, Mark Lettieri (Snarky Puppy), Ida Nielsen, Percy Bady, Feodor Dosumov and others.

He has also collaborates with eminent engineers, such as Evren Göknar (Capitol Studios), Lu Diaz (Diaz Brothers), Luke Pimentel and Randy Merrill (Sterling Sound).

In 2017, by the request of Waves Audio, Stepanyan created presets for favorite plugins ‘Renaissance’ bundle including RVerb;[2] REQ2; REQ4; REQ6,[3] Clavinet[4] and Electric 200 Piano.[5].

In 2017, he did instrument's demos and presentations at NAMM Show[6] with the industry's top producers, engineers and musicians including Andrew Scheps, Infected Mushrooms, Billy Bush, Butch Vig, Chris Lord-Alge, Dave Audé, Eddie Kramer, Greg Wells, Jack Joseph Puig, Lu Diaz, Manny Marroquin, Tony Maserati and Shaun Martin. At various NAMM shows Stepanyan did presentations for GruvGear, Soundbrenner, UVI, Waves Audio, 64Audio and performed at NAMM Nissan Grand Plaza Stage.

Albums[edit]

Stepanyan was engaged in the production of over 30 albums as an arranger, songwriter or keyboard player.

In 2013 he produced The Ethnos Project Volume One,[7] the first of a collection of multiethnic/multicultural music recordings. Volume One includes nine languages: English, Tagalog, Mandarin, Swahili, Farsi, Japanese, Spanish, Korean and Estonian. The Ethnos Project was recorded in four different countries (Armenia, Venezuela, Estonia and USA). In 2014 it was also featured and reviewed in Worship Leader Magazine.

In 2015, Stepanyan self-produced his debut album "Moonlight".[8].

In 2020 he worked with singer, songwriter and producer Percy Bady by arranging keyboards on his “Whole World”[9] song.
