Arbitration motion regarding User:Δ

Per a motion at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Amendment:

The Arbitration Committee provisions for the unbanning of Betacommand are amended as follows: Betacommand (talk · contribs), now editing as Δ (talk · contribs), is authorized to operate a single secondary account, Δbot (talk · contribs), only to perform automated tasks directly related to the clerking of sockpuppet investigations only as specified and authorized by the Bot Approvals Group. Any other use of the bot, broadly interpreted, must be specifically authorized in advance by BAG and endorsed by ArbCom.

Arbitration Enforcement Request notification

Please be aware that I have filed an Arbitration Enforcement Request concerning you at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement#.CE.94. 67.80.250.138 (talk) 08:14, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Just a question about that "wikitext clenaup tool" you mentioned: if I'm not mistaken, according to your unban conditions, you are still "prohibited from operating bots or running automated scripts of whatever nature", right? Was that also lifted, or do you feel that tool doesn't come under the restriction? It would be nice if you could briefly clarify this for me. Thanks, -- Fut.Perf. 12:50, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

its not automated, and its designed to be used alongside normal editing (in conjunction with another edit) what it will do when done is generic minor text cleanup (and then load that data into the web browser for review and further modifications) So according to my restrictions its not applicable, tools:~dispenser/view/Reflinks is where I got the original idea from. Since this is not automated its not prohibited. ΔT The only constant 12:58, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
Okay, fine with me. Thanks for the explanation. Fut.Perf. 13:00, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

The IP asked a question at the talk page on July 31, maybe you might want to respond and explain, rather than blind reverting. –xenotalk 18:58, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

I missed that, I had left notes on several of its (random and constantly changing) talk pages. ΔT The only constant 19:03, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Your patrol through Hell's_Kitchen_(U.S.)

While I understand that you have a previous history with editing in Wikipedia, I would like to understand some of your reasoning on the whitespace additions and deletions. Some of the changes I will agree with in terms of updating the link titles, but I do not understand how changing the br tags to include a space between the r and the slash is improving the article. I will watch your talk page for the duration of this discussion. Hasteur (talk) 04:08, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

<br /> is the proper XHTML and standardizing wikitext with what it implements (even thought mediawiki uses Tidy to prevent any actually breakage) it makes it easier to work with for those who are familiar with the markup. Since I was already cleaning up the wikitext (link titles) I went ahead and standardized the markup. ΔT The only constant 04:14, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Undocumented changes to User:Δ/monobook.js

You have made numerous unexplained changes to this file, which can be understood as giving you the ability to do automated edits. You are under the most stringent restrictions concerning both automated edits & running bots. Until you explain in satisfactory detail what these changes do I have reverted these edits & protected this page. It is not my responsibility to understand the code, but it is yours to document it. -- llywrch (talk) 20:30, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

  • I'm curious as to where in all of Δ's editing restrictions there's a requirement that he document javascript code he creates? --Hammersoft (talk) 22:01, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

your Admin page

I have moved it to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Δ and created redirects. Off2riorob (talk) 19:51, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello Δ. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:RitaSimonian/DATA The Global Fund prefix:Talk:U2/, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Page in userspace: may be notes by editor to herself to write or improve an article. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 04:05, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

cat I just added here

I hope you don't mind, it's not meant to be a scarlet letter or anything, just a tool for tracking what happens to users after they succeed in getting a ban removed. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:19, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

I do mind, and have removed it. ΔT The only constant 22:03, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Rename at eswikibooks

Done. Left some notes there too. Regards, --Dferg (talk) 10:37, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
