I'm from Tamil Nadu, South India . Lord Murugan/Karthikeya is Main God here just like Lord Siva . Lord Murugan is famously known as a "Tamil(தமிழ்)" God, Globally .The word Murugan derived from Tamil word called "முருகு" means handsome,knowledge, always young etc . All main deities of Murugan from his birth and childhood plays, marriages with Valli and Deivayanai till Soorasamharam (Killing demons) are within the territory of Tamil Nadu . Thiruchendhoor,Swamimalai,Pazhani malai,Thiruthani,Pazhamudhir Solai,Marudhamalai are those 6 temples which is located in Tamil Nadu completly portrays full great story of Lord Murugan . he is a Six faced Hindu God known famously for the six temples which I said above . Even newly constructed Murugan temple which is in Malaysia, Cambodia, Singapore, Sri Lanka etc Tamil worship is done ."Arunagirinathar","Nakkirar","Bogar","Agathiyar" etc are famous old Tamil poets who wrote poems and life history of Murugan . There is a statement written wrongly about Murugan which complety changes whole story . when someone (African,American,Chinese, Indian etc) searches about Murugan/Karthikeyan they will take things wrong . if they come to India for visiting Lord Murugan/Karthikeyan temple sure they will be visiting "Tamil Nadu"(only state completely dedicated to Lord Murugan/Karthikeyan with history of his plays in form of language, temples, sculptures,Devotional Murugan movies and old books written by devotees,sages,Pulavars who seen Murugan directly with proof) and they will be confused totally with what's told in wiki and reality .
