You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:
- Create new pages and rename pages
- Edit semi-protected pages
- Upload images
- Have your own watchlist, which shows when articles you are interested in have changed
If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (100.34.241.119) is used to identify you instead.
I hope that you, as a Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).

[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Drmies (talk) 06:03, 2 March 2018 (UTC)

Edit summaries
[edit]Hi. Please read the notice above. If you are going to change categories then people may well wonder why. If you do not explain why then people are more likely to disagree and to revert them. For example, your changes to Black Hebrew Israelites did not seem obviously correct and, with no reason given, my only choice was to revert the change. --DanielRigal (talk) 01:19, 11 March 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Black Hebrew Israelites, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. If you are going to remove categories then you need to explain why. Please use the edit summary for uncontroversial changes and the Talk page of each article to discuss any changes that might be more contentious. DanielRigal (talk) 21:46, 15 March 2018 (UTC)

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Alano Miller, you may be blocked from editing. Shellwood (talk) 01:24, 18 March 2018 (UTC)

This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Chirlane McCray, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Zyc1174 chat? what I did 07:21, 22 March 2018 (UTC)

Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Zoe Saldana. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. See WP:BLPCAT Geraldo Perez (talk) 09:13, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
- It's clear that many of your edits are constructive, but you leave no edit summaries, make no mention of sources, and do not discuss changes on talk pages. You are focused on changing racial categories, such as African-American -> Americans of Nigerian descent, which can be controversial and potentially offensive. In spite of your many constructive edits, it is very likely you will be blocked from editing unless you discuss on talk pages first and stick to the sources for your changes. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 15:17, 18 April 2018 (UTC)

Categorisation
[edit]Hi there. Before engaging in mass changes to categories, please read WP:Categorisation to get an understanding of how it works. For example, you added Category:African-American sportswomen to dozens of articles that were already in Category:African-American female track and field athletes. If an article is already in a sub category, it doesn't need to be added to the parent category too (in most circumstances). Thanks. SFB 18:15, 7 May 2018 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
