Edit warring
[edit]Making an assertion in an edit summary and thinking that's sufficient to do whatever you want IS "because I said so". There's a Talk page: use it. --Calton | Talk 00:33, 9 August 2018 (UTC)
Edit warring at 2018 in the United States

Request reason:
I believe you banned the wrong person. 184.101.195.188 (talk) 05:44, 9 August 2018 (UTC) Summary: I see misleading wording then edit. A revert happens. I edit again and provide an explanation. I was personally attacked after providing an explanation on why I reverted. Two different users both reverted my edits without addressing my points. One makes an ironic comment about my point. I use a talk page. Then I get banned for edit warring. Timeline and relevant comments are below.
Decline reason:
The three-revert rule is a bright line, and you crossed it. That justifies a block. Yunshui 雲水 07:49, 9 August 2018 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Timeline: I make a good faith edit. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2018_in_the_United_States&diff=853908762&oldid=853907671 with the following explanation listed in the revision comments: 19:05, 7 August 2018 184.101.195.188 (talk) . . (91,665 bytes) (-75) . . (→August: →August: Last post and source were misleading; Trump did not call, command or demand to end the Russia Investigation. Please read the actual tweet. He said J.S. "should". Trump is J.S.'s boss, if Trump called for an end J.S. would be forced to comply because Trump is J.S.'s boss<source is Ben Shapiro>.)
Then I receive a personal attack: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2018_in_the_United_States&diff=853909300&oldid=853908762 19:11, 7 August 2018 SarekOfVulcan (talk | contribs) . . (91,800 bytes) (+135) . . (Reverted good faith edits by 184.101.195.188 (talk): Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest. (TW)) (Tag: Undo)
I fire back: 19:16, 7 August 2018 184.101.195.188 (talk) . . (91,665 bytes) (-135) . . (Undid revision 853909300 by SarekOfVulcan (talk) Pushing fake news.) (Tag: Undo)
The user who disagrees makes a lazy response by disregarding previous comments.
01:08, 8 August 2018 Calton (talk | contribs) . . (91,800 bytes) (+38) . . (Reverted to revision 853909300 by SarekOfVulcan (talk): Nah, better wording. (TW)) (Tag: Undo)
I revert back explaining why:
04:48, 8 August 2018 184.101.195.188 (talk) . . (91,762 bytes) (-38) . . (Undid revision 853955766 by Calton (talk) Misleading wording and false source, as previously explained.) (Tag: Undo)
I don't understand this users comment. Giving a clear explanation as to why I reverted is not "Because I said so". It is ironic because that is what they are doing. 09:54, 8 August 2018 Calton (talk | contribs) . . (91,800 bytes) (+38) . . (Reverted to revision 853955766 by Calton (talk): "Because I said so" is insufficient. Talk page. Use it. (TW)) (Tag: Undo)
I explain:
19:50, 8 August 2018 184.101.195.188 (talk) . . (91,762 bytes) (-38) . . (Undid revision 854006801 by Calton (talk) Amazing. Accuses me of editing "just because I say so" without offering any explanation on why a reversion was made or acknowledging my previous reversion comments which clearly explain why I edited. Are you deliberately ignoring my reversion comments only a few lines down from your own?) (Tag: Undo)
Strangely, the disagreeing user suggests I use the talk page after I explained my position on their talk page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Calton#Impossible_Interpretation
00:30, 9 August 2018 Calton (talk | contribs) . . (91,800 bytes) (+38) . . (Undid revision 854073661 by 184.101.195.188 (talk) - Assertion by edit summary **IS** "Because I said so". Talk Page: use it.) (Tag: Undo)
Then I get banned. All edits were made in good faith and I provided an explanation.
- "Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest " wasn't an attack against you, it was an allusion to Trump and plausible deniability on his part. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 13:46, 9 August 2018 (UTC)
