[edit]Hello, I'm FlightTime. Concerning your recent edit(s) to the page Video Killed the Radio Star, only cover versions/renditions important enough to have gained attention in their own right should be added to song articles. Merely appearing in an album track listing, a discography, etc., is not sufficient to show that a cover version is noteworthy. Cover songs with only these types of sources should not be added to song articles, either as prose or in a list. Further information can be reviewed at WP:COVERSONG. If you still believe your edit should stand, please open a discussion on the article's talk page and seek consensus. Thank you. - FlightTime (open channel) 22:47, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
- Please read WP:Verifiability and WP:Reliable sources. In this edit, you claim that the song has "a significant role" in the show, but the link you provided simply confirms that it was used in the show; it says nothing about it being significant within the show. In this edit, you attribute a quote to Vince Clark; you need to provide verification of that quote. OhNoitsJamie Talk 22:59, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Video Killed the Radio Star; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
- But VKTRS is one of the earliest true electronic pop songs, and Erasure are many-decade stars/kings of electronic music, for this fact I don't think any consensus is needed. And if these star-kings decide to cover VKTRS, and on top of that Vince even says that this song he consider to be a perfect pop song, then it can only be sane and logical to include the information about their cover in at least one sentence on wikipedia. Ita is absolutely relevant information. Find any other electro-pop artist that can be more globally relevant today (as multi=decade 'veterans' of the electro-pop sound) than Erasure. Depeche Mode didn't cover this song, and for some time they are not even very 'pop' in their sound. So the fact that Erasure version was not a single, and didn't chart cannot be more important than the fact that Erasure included this song on their cover album, and even had an extra reason, for considering it a 'perfect' pop song.198.1.201.95 (talk) 05:47, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. - FlightTime (open channel) 23:27, 18 August 2020 (UTC)

. User:Jpgordon (talk) 05:18, 22 August 2020 (UTC)- I'm blocked with reason "unsourced edit", but what I said is non-disputable, https://secondhandsongs.com/work/795/versions. You can see that the BEF version from 1982 is the first cover of Perfect Day, and the only notable cover from 1980s (1986 Blue Lu, from Italy, and 1985 Wishes and Water from USA, are not worth mentioning). I just stated that before Duran's version from 90s, BEF's version from 80s was the first, but it didn't chart.
Nothing disputable or "unsourced".198.1.201.95 (talk) 06:30, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

Request reason:
I'm blocked with reason "unsourced edit", but what I said is non-disputable, https://secondhandsongs.com/work/795/versions. Nothing disputable or "unsourced", I should have included a ref to this secondhandsongs.com as source, if lack of cite/source was a reason for your 15-day without-a-warning-shock-block. 198.1.201.95 (talk) 12:13, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
Decline reason:
It's up to you to provide a source to go with your edits, preferably at the time of the edit. This request does not convince me that you will do that in the future. 331dot (talk) 13:16, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
