[edit]Please do not use misleading edit summaries when making changes to Wikipedia pages, as you did to List of political parties in the United States. This behavior is viewed as disruptive, and continuation may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Bettering the Wiki (talk) 03:24, 20 September 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Politics of Louisiana. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Sirocco745 (talk) 00:24, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- The entire premise of that section is a personal point of view…and a bizarre one at that. It's pure commentary. LA voted heavily for Bush in 2000 and again in 2004, before Katrina. The numbers I present are also irrefutable…30k votes lost, at most. I also noticed that there isn't a single source reference sited in the entire paragraph. Doesn't this violate Wikipedia policy as well? 32.220.174.189 (talk) 01:00, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- As an Australian, I find the politics of the USA's various states quite interesting and honestly befuddling at times as well. While what you've added is certainly interesting, it's the type of thing that Wikipedia considers trivia, which in a Wikipedia context basically means "while true and/or interesting, this information isn't necessary to the article." I would recommend you at least skim read the policy on neutral point of view, "weasel words" that undermine said neutrality, and where emphasis is due or undue on certain facts to gain a better understanding of how things are done here.
- However, I'm not going to leave you hanging without an explanation, so simply put: Wikipedia isn't a place for the editors to express opinions. Opinions do exist in many articles, but the ones that do exist are there either because they comply with the relevant policy, or because they've slipped through the cracks. Another reason I reverted your edit is because you didn't provide a source to back up your statement. Data is all good, but you need to provide the data's origin. Also, here's the policy on sourcing. Reply/message me if you have anything further you need/want to ask, I'm happy to help! I also noticed you left a message on my talk page, I'll reply to that soon, just gotta do something IRL. Please stop. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by adding your personal analysis or synthesis into articles, as you did at Politics of Louisiana, you may be blocked from editing. I can see you have a strong personal opinion about the subject, but Wikipedia articles are not the place to express those. Talk pages exist for a reason. If you have something contentious to add, then discuss it there and find sources to back up your intended edits. Sirocco745 (talk) 00:46, 14 October 2024 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users.
