[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to Oliver Otis Howard did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.
The edit summary field looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! SShreddiesTalk! 20:12, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for July 18
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Robert T. Frederick, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Italian Campaign and Invasion of Southern France. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 08:25, 18 July 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, 82298NATE. I noticed that your recent edit to James H. Wilson added a link to an image on an external website or on your computer, or to a file name that does not exist on Wikipedia's server. For technical and policy reasons it is not possible to use images from external sources on Wikipedia. Most images you find on the internet are copyrighted and cannot be used on Wikipedia, or their use is subject to certain restrictions. If the image meets Wikipedia's image use policy, consider uploading it to Wikipedia yourself or request that someone else upload it. See the image tutorial to learn about wiki syntax used for images. Thank you. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 22:06, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
License tagging for File:William Henry Bisbee Findagrave.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:William Henry Bisbee Findagrave.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 06:30, 21 July 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of John C. Raaen Jr.
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on John C. Raaen Jr. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.normandy1944.info/stories/john-c-raaen-jr. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Broc (talk) 08:48, 24 July 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:American Military Veteran Centenarians
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:American Military Veteran Centenarians indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 22:09, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
Hello, 82298NATE,
This category has been tagged for speedy deletion CSD C1 as an empty category. You don't seem to understand that categories are not for article content, they are simply a tool for organizing articles and other pages. The content you added to this page didn't add articles to this category and is more suitable for a list article.
If you have questions about categories, please bring them to the Teahouse. Liz Read! Talk! 22:10, 25 July 2024 (UTC)

August 2024
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Categories for discussion notices from category pages, or remove other people's comments in Categories for discussion debates, as you did with Category:American Military Veteran Centenarians. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion, merger, or renaming of a category, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 20:14, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
