Using multiple accounts, Draft:Julie Ringuette

[edit]

I noticed that your account on the French Wikipedia was blocked for, among other reasons, using multiple accounts.

Using undisclosed multiple accounts on the English Wikipedia can cause people to think you are here for promotional or other reasons. Please read WP:SOCK and WP:SOCKLEGIT before editing under any other account on the English Wikipedia.

Also, I noticed the draft you are working on, Draft:Julie Ringuette, looks very promotional in tone. It is also unreferenced. Before you submit it for consideration, please read WP:Your first article and the pages it links to. Pay careful attention to the "notability" requirements and to the requirements that are specific to biographies of living persons.

If, after reading these pages, you determine that the person is NOT notable enough to have a page on the English Wikipedia, you do not have to do anything. If the draft is not edited for 6 months, it will be deleted as part of normal housekeeping.

If you determine that the person IS notable, please improve the draft before submitting it. Instructions for submitting drafts can be found at WP:Articles for creation. Do not submit any draft until you are sure

  • It is about a notable topic
  • Its references adequately demonstrate to the reviewer that the topic is notable
  • If there are more than a handful of references, put a note on the talk page pointing out the ones the reviewer should look at first when he is assessing the topic's notability.
  • Make sure the page is in an encyclopedic tone. In particular, make sure it does not come across as being "publicity material." Read WP:NOTPROMO for more information.

Also, since this draft appears to be a translation of something written on the French Wikipedia, you need to read WP:Translation for instructions on how to give the legally required attribution on the draft's talk page. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 18:52, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Julie Ringuette.webp requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://ici.radio-canada.ca/tele/les-magnifiques/site/emission/comediens/4/julie-ringuette. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Moving pages back to draft:

[edit]

You recently moved several articles from Draft: to the main encyclopedia.

I am moving them back to their "Draft:" locations.

Had I not done so, they would likely have been deleted, as they did not use reliable sources that are independent of the subject to show that the subject had received significant coverage from those types of sources. Wikipedia calls this notability.

Please read WP:Your first article and WP:Biographies of living persons before working on these drafts. If the topic is NOT notable by Wikipedia standards, it should not have an article. Your time would be better spent elsewhere.

Also, please read WP:Conflict of interest and WP:Paid-contribution disclosure. If they apply to you, please follow the instructions in those pages. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 00:54, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor, 81282quebectelevision, moved several of the pages back to the main encyclopedia: Annie-Soleil Proteau, Draft:The Messmer Experience, and Claudia Ebacher. I nominated each of them for deletion due to the lack of evidence that they meet Wikipedia's notability criteria to have an article. These discussions typically last about a week.
A list of your non-deleted contributions is at Special:Contributions/882antoine. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 01:41, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Some reading that will help you

[edit]

If you haven't done so already, please read WP:About, WP:What Wikipedia is not, WP:Your first article, WP:Conflict of interest, and WP:Paid-contributions disclosure.

These pages, and the pages they link to, will help you be a more effective Wikipedia editor. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 02:47, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
