October 2012[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one of your recent edits has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edit to Spider-Man (Miles Morales), as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edit had to be reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept uncited material. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Spider-Man in film. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:59, 19 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Favre1fan93: Why did you send me this message after I brought this to the Talk Page? The one user other than you agreed with me. 89.101.219.18 (talk) 14:33, 19 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Unbreakable/Shyamalan[edit]

I'm assuming good faith about your assertion that the Total Film article confirms the fan theory, although I'm rather surprised that other fan outlets would not be citing this. Since Total Film would be the only source establishing this, you need to provide a full citation for it, so that other editors can verify. Once other secondary reporting pops up, it'll be less of a concern. Grandpallama (talk) 16:14, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Grandpallama: Here's what the article says:

Rule of Crumb: Any eagle-eyed viewers who revisited Unbreakable after watching Split may have spotted a curious connection: outside the stadium where David dunn works security, he "flashes" on a young boy being abused by his mother, just like a certain Kevin Wendell Crumb. Shyamalan previously denied the two are connected, but speaking to TF in October, he admits to having a change of heart. "I actually think that that was a remnant of the original Kevin Wendell Crumb and his mum that, by mistake, stayed in the movie," Shyamalan explains." You can see the shadow of the original movie. You are seeing Kevin Wendell Crumb, on top of a different Kevin Wendell Crumb. So it's a beautiful mistake that's now become an echo of the original story." Now we just need to clear up whether Shyamalan's stadium drug dealer and Jai the security guard are one and the same... JF

For context, when Shyamalan refers to the "original movie" and "original story", he's referring to Split in relation to Unbreakable.
Thank you. 89.101.219.18 (talk) 10:47, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine, but you need to include all the necessary details (article title, author/interviewer, page number, etc.) in the citation when/if you reinsert the information. Also prepare for it to be challenged, since some will argue that's a fairly weak confirmation. Happy editing! Grandpallama (talk) 10:50, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Grandpallama: Alright. I already made the edit before seeing your response; I'll add the page number and author/interviewer later today. As basis, how would I lay out the reference, may I ask? 89.101.219.18 (talk) 10:53, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
A good resource for learning how to do citations can be found at WP:Cite, which will go over all the different methods of doing so. Another thing you can do (which is a handy shortcut) is look at how the other citations in the existing article are structured when you're in edit mode, and mimic that structure as you enter your own information. Using the citation template will make your citations like other ones, so that people can click on the footnote and jump to the Wikipedia entry for Total Film or to the website (if one existed).
