There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Kyiv vs Kiev in historical articles[edit]

Please see this Request for Comment for the discussion where this consensus was achieved: Talk:Kyiv/Archive 9#RfC: Kyiv/Kiev in other articles. Until the consensus changes, the articles such as Kievan Rus continue to use the "Kiev" spelling.
