Discipline[edit]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Officially Aaliyah. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 08:25, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

February 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Officially Aaliyah has been reverted.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): tinypic\.com (links: http://i39.tinypic.com/6riqhc.jpg). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Officially Aaliyah. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. On recreating Officially Aaliyah[edit]

Hi there. I imagine that you probably feel that we're ganging up on you, but we are not. Since the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Officially Aaliyah was to delete, you are not permitted to recreate the identical article, and I have put a tag on the article for it to be deleted. Now, once there is reliable source that states that the record has been released, then it will be time for your article. To put it another, Wikipedia is not for making news, it merely records news that all ready has been made. By the way, while YouTube is extremely popular, it is not considered to be a reliable source for Wikipedia purposes because anyone can create content and post it there. Thanks, and take care. Xymmax So let it be written So let it be done 22:14, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you have again recreated the article under the name Officially Aaliyah: Rare and Unreleased; I have again listed it for deletion. Please don't do this again until you have reliable sources. At this point, the repeated attempts to create this article and promote the mixtape look like spam, and I'm afraid that any further activity of this nature will result in you being blocked. About File:Aaliyah2001.jpg[edit]

Greetings! I see you claim that you created File:Aaliyah2001.jpg yourself and note it was from a photo shoot. Could you please tell me the date and location of the photo shoot, the camera you used, and other pertinent info about this photograph you claim to have taken? —C.Fred (talk) 02:37, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ditto the three other images you uploaded today. I'm beginning to suspect copyright infringement. —C.Fred (talk) 02:39, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A large number of photos get uploaded after somebody has copied the image from a website and manipulated it, so it is a more valid question than would appear otherwise. Additionally, by the nature of the upload, it would appear you've licensed the image in GFDL—so since the image is now free for others to use as they see fit (as long as attribution is made), it's a question of making sure that license is in order. Though I'm sure you're already aware of that. —C.Fred (talk) 03:29, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your uploads[edit]

Good day. I see that you have uploaded a number of images to Wikipedia. First off, thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, there are some guidelines that we need to follow with copyrighted images. Specifically, you need to add a source for the image (a link to a website will do), a copyright tag (there are some listed at WP:ICT), and a rationale explaining why we can use a copyrighted image (explained at WP:NFURG). I see that your images fail to include one of these. Please stop uploading images and address the concerns listed above. If you need assistance, you can ask at the help desk. If you do not fix these images, and you continue to make bad uploads, you will be blocked and your images will be deleted. Thanks for your contributions! • Please explain how you can claim to own this image before I delete it as blatant copyright infringement, since it is clearly a scan from a magazine or catalogue. —C.Fred (talk) 21:58, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • If you'd be so kind to scan the bill of sale and email it, along with your release of the image, to the copyrights address under "Contact Wikipedia" to the left, they can flag the image with an OTRS ticket. —C.Fred (talk) 22:09, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Aaliyahiownthisphoto.jpg deleted[edit]

I'm calling foul on this one. Today, you've claimed to own a magazine (and an advertising page inside), a Victoria's Secret ad, and now the cover to Fader magazine. The magazine cover is the most blatant of the three; I've deleted File:Aaliyahiownthisphoto.jpg as blatant copyright infringement, and unless you give clearer explanations of how you own the other images, they're up for deletion as well. —C.Fred (talk) 22:06, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Legal threats and ANI report[edit]

Re this edit on my talk page, I am filing a report at WP:ANI to bring in an uninvolved administrator. Be advised that your comment is likely to be perceived as a legal threat; making legal threats can result in an immediate block. —C.Fred (talk) 22:13, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are not allowed to edit Wikipedia as long as the threats stand or the legal action is unresolved. You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Natashajones2009 for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. DiverseMentality 22:56, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Hits & Unreleased: The Ultimate Collection. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hits & Unreleased: The Ultimate Collection. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:15, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
