Speedy deletion nomination of Thor global defense group

[edit]

Hello THOR Global Defense Group,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Thor global defense group for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. 331dot (talk) 19:21, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

We have already had a Wikipedia page before, you can see it at this web archive link https://web.archive.org/web/20120927220730/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/thor_global_defense_group and we are trying to get it back up and running again. Not sure why we have been blocked.

Decline reason:

This is explained immediately above this unblock request. Yamla (talk) 19:50, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You were blocked because 1) your username violates the username policy as it is that of a business and 2) your edits were promotional in nature. To be unblocked, you will first need to confirm that only one person is using this account(you use "we" above). You will need to request a new username as described above that indicates you as an individual user. A name in the format of "YourName of THOR GDG" would be acceptable(you don't have to use your real name). You will also need to indicate that you have read and intend to comply with WP:COI and WP:PAID(complying with the latter is required by Wikipedia's Terms of Use if you are a paid editor).
You will also need to agree to not directly edit about your company, instead using indirect means to edit about it- but only if you have proper independent reliable sources that indicate how your company meets WP:ORG, the notability guidelines for organizations. Wikipedia has no interest in what a company wishes to say about itself. In order to be successful in writing about your own company, you will need to forget everything you know about it and only write based on what independent sources state. This is usually difficult for people in your situation to do. If all you want to do is tell about your company and its products, you will not be unblocked. 331dot (talk) 19:57, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

I'm confused, you seem to represent this company. Are you an employee of the company that has been tasked with editing Wikipedia? If yes, you are a paid editor. 331dot (talk) 21:05, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the confusion, I was also very confused. I had to re-read the WP:COI & WP:PAID since I am totally new to Wikipedia and already stepping on toes. Apologies. I had a misunderstanding that WP:PAID pertained to paid editors who consulted outside of the business or company. I am an employee which makes me a paid editor. I would like to also comply with the WP:PAID terms and clear up any confusion here. Thank you.

Multiple unblock requests at one time are not necessary. See WP:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a CoI for information on how to disclose this information. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 21:33, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
