IP Block Exemption Request

Hello. Because you are a CheckUser I am requesting that you allow me IP Block Exemption access in order to edit Wikipedia over Tor. I am leaving my current country for an extended period of time to live in a country where censorship is prevalent. I will require Tor access in order to continue to edit Wikipedia. -Splinemath (talk) 03:37, 25 December 2019 (UTC)

Happy First Edit Day!

Tuam Home scandal - again....

Hello again, Alison. I don't know if you have the time - or patience! - to revisit Bon Secours Sisters the content disputes. Another editing war has recently erupted over attempts to constrain unneeded and distracting details of the scandal on this page; see Talk:Bon Secours Sisters for more on the dispute. Essentially, the scandal already has extensive coverage in several other pages that are specific to the Tuam institution and the related investigations. Lending a moderating hand might help. I've raised this matter here. Thnx Alison, & Stay Safe! jxm (talk) 01:27, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

Thank you; I have just sent you an unnecessary e-mail. Can you explain what the user had done which prevented me from either seeing, changing or deleting the archive? ----Anthony Bradbury"talk" 22:07, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
Hi Anthony. Yes - they just edited your talk page and changed the link to the archive. You can see it in the comment above when you click on the link. I just renamed the link back to where it should have been :) - Alison 23:07, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

Malia Obama: should the redirect be unprotected?

Hi Alison. This redirect goes to Family of Barack Obama#Malia and Sasha Obama. Of the admins who protected this redirect in the past, you are the only one who is still active. See the proposal for unprotection at RFPP. Do you agree with unprotection? Since there was originally an AfD (more than 10 years ago) should there be a DRV to allow creation of an article? Thanks for any opinion, EdJohnston (talk) 19:59, 13 July 2020 (UTC)

Please help

hello my name is mark. i have been editing wiki for a long time (years). i apologize for bothering you. But I think I need help. My account has been flagged for some kind of violation callef a “Sock puppet“. I am a 50-year-old not particularly coumpter savvy guy. I love editing Wikipedia and it gives me a great sence of perpose.  Again I apologize, I’m crying while trying to type this in with my stylus. i dont know why someone would want to prank me. but i use just one account and do not understand what is going on. Im afraid my reputation on Wiki has been destroyed. i am disabled with only partial use my fingers and hands so it is hard for me to type. I am afraid that I’m not going to be able to edit on wiki anymore. Please help me.--Marked4life (talk) 20:48, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

Marked4life, As an editor who noticed this plea for help I am alerting Materialscientist who issued a block on Dunecorrino earlier today. They are a highly experienced admin here and will be able to work with you directly to understand with you what is taking place. Fiddle Faddle 21:02, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
Marked4life, They have access as an admin to areas I do not, and are able to get the drains up. As a non admin all I can see is that the user blocked earlier has an interest in armed forces as do you.
May I suggest that you relax over this, and await the admin I've pinged to have a discussion with you. I'm somewhat confused because sock puppetry when proven usually gets all involved blocked.
You could always have a chat with then on their own talk page. All the dealings I've had with them have been 100% straightforward. We expect that of all our admins Fiddle Faddle 21:19, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

Fiddle

thank you for your reply. I will try to maintain my Calm. I have now lost acess to my Email, the password seems to have been changed. Since i can no longer acess my email i will have to try to make some alternitive arangment for a new one. What a mess this is, ivd had that same email adress since i was in my 20s. all i want is to make my small contribution to wiki--Marked4life (talk) 22:07, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

Marked4life, As far as I can tell the admin is not online and has not been for a while. I've no idea of their timezone, but it is best to assume they are having a decent night's sleep. You should reward yourself with the same. I am about to where I am!
I wish I could help with your email. There is usually a formal way to recover a password. You say you are not hugely computer savvy. Perhaps a real life friend or neighbour could offer some help? My neighbours often ask me for help in situations like that Fiddle Faddle 22:14, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

Hi Mark. Ok - I’m busy with my day job and somewhat semi-retired, but I’ll see what can be done here. I’m also a Checkuser so should be able to help in a technical capacity. I can see you mean well, so let’s wait for a few hours, and I’ll try get an understanding of what’s going on so we can get things resolved. But first off - don’t panic :) We’ll sort things out - Alison 22:15, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

Did a solution arrive for Mark? Fiddle Faddle 19:46, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
To Fiddle Faddle: I hope so. I'm not sure, because I haven't seen Mark post anything about the sockpuppetry, but I think so, since Mark's block log is blank. Also, Mark's latest edit is dated to today, 3 August 2020. Friend505 (talk) 23:57, 3 August 2020 (UTC)

Suppression

I had an idea recently about the suppression template and wanted to bring it to your attention because you helped create that template. My discussion is here. Im prepared to be totally wrong and in fact I hope I am, but once it occurred to me I couldnt just let it go. Thanks, Soap 18:55, 28 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Patricia Janečková, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Slovak. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Raw989

My account Raw989 was blocked by an administrator because he thought it was a sockpuppet account of another wikipedia account Hansijat, but even I don't know whose account is this,so how can an administrator block someone's account without proper investigation on wikipedia while I never add any misleading information on wikipedia even a single time,so can you help in this issue? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2409:4052:2014:E079:0:0:BF7:98A4 (talk) 15:43, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

Please check this article. I do not know if this is a right place for this. There are currently lot of new accounts or accounts inactive for a while, suddenly talking or editing the same things whole the time. Thanks in advance. Beshogur (talk) 20:54, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

I need help

I need help.I am newcomer with no intention to vandalise, cause problems or promote subject matters or living people. However I have been warned, blocked and accused of all sorts of this. Can someone out there with good experience help me clean up the following articles.I admit i do not understand the term neutrality from the wikipedia point of view when sources are cited and repetitive statements are removed-called a vandal and being blocked. The 2 Articles are https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._Ravikiran and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vappala_Balachandran and yes i have a registered account and my username is rajeshbm. What i do not get is the rude manner in which my mistakes are explained. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rajeshbm (talkcontribs) 00:20, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
