November 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Please do not modify neutral references unnecessarily in an attempt to WP:POVPUSH ChunnuBhai (talk) 15:48, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. And why are you mass changing the access dates to November 22, 2020? All in a span of seconds and minutes? Some1 (talk) 14:24, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Marybeth Davis. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. --GouramiWatcherTalk 07:41, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Please do not change access-dates[edit]

I have noticed that you have been changing the access-date fields of citations on a number of pages. It is quite unnecessary, and possibly misleading. The original date when the content was accessed is perfectly fine. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 20:31, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon I echo the above statement. You've been reverted by multiple editors and you still continue to misleadingly change the access dates after being warned. Not to mention, you changed the access-date to 2022 in this edit... https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Osama_bin_Laden&diff=prev&oldid=990340696 Some1 (talk) 14:47, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

FWIW there is nothing inherently wrong with changing the access-date since it reflects when the object was last accessed and verified, not when the cite was created. However given the speed of edits (15 in 1 one minute, or 1 edit every 4 seconds), it's impossible these were manually verified. Plus there appears to be some sort of undisclosed automated tool or bot involved. Given the trivial nature of the edits (wikilinking 1 word, changing the date of 1 citation) this gives the appearance of an account building up an edit history for some later purpose. -- GreenC 14:31, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That's what I thought too [3]. Some1 (talk) 14:48, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The most recent was 17 edits in 1 minute. They are automating edits without a bot flag, accounts have been permanent banned for that. -- GreenC 14:38, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
