Welcome!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. You are making some good edits, and to help you further why not read WP:MOS about the style of Wikipedia articles and also WP:CITE which is how we cite additions to articles to reliable sources. Everything added to Wikipedia must be verifiable. Cheers. Ben 20:26, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Ant Parker, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. ... discospinster talk 21:56, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Your edits
[edit]You seem to be making alot of edits to WIkipedia, particularly to British soap articles, which is great! One thing I have noticed however is your grammar seems to be slightly below average, and many edits I have seen you make require minor cleanups by someone else afterwards. For example, this edit, although constructive, would need minor changes to capital letters, commars/full stops, etc. Try to be aware of this in future edits, and keep up the good work! Coronation Street characters
[edit]Glad to see you're still working hard with your edits! Have you read WP:FICTION? It is a collection of guidelines about how we write for Wikipedia when the subject is fictional. I draw your attention specifically to minor characters and what it says about them. A number of new articles have appeared recently about characters such as Doreen Fenwick and Roger Stiles which contain only a line of information. As far as we are aware these characters are not permanent and are only very minor, any information should ideally be merged into respective character profiles which are larger (for instance Rita Sullivan or Janice Battersby). Keep up the good work and try to read things like WP:FICTION to help you with your edits and to understand what should be included and what shouldn't! Ben 02:06, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
Coronation Street articles
[edit]Hello, Ant Parker. I have given you a few pointers in the past about your edits to Wikipedia, especially the pages you are creating. Could I please ask you to think carefully before creating a page? More character articles have popped up recently for very minor characters, as well as one or two articles for fictional places that are somehow related to the programme, such as Rosamund Street. Please read WP:FICTION and WP:N before you create a page as Wikipedia is not a fan site to create thousands of pages about non-notable topics or subjects. Ben 09:37, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Coronation Street
[edit]Hello, Ant Parker. Great to see that you have been making more additions to the Coronation Street article! I changed your edits to the 'Overseas' section because Wikipedia tries to promote the use of continuous prose rather than lists. I like the idea of including the information about businesses in the area, but perhaps that could be better suited to the Weatherfield article? Don't forget to read WP:N and WP:FICTION to help you when you add things to Wikipedia - we need to be certain that something is notable (important) enough before it is mentioned.Kepp up the hard work! Template cleanup
[edit]A few templates you created, Template:Life on Park Street and Template:Life on park street, have been marked for deletion as deprecated and orphaned templates. If, after 14 days, there have been no objections, the templates will be deleted. If you wish to object to their deletion, please list your objections here and feel free to remove the {{deprecated}} tag from the templates. If you feel the deletions are appropriate, no further action is necessary. Thanks for your attention. --MZMcBride 03:00, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Street190807(7) david stoodup.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Street190807(7) david stoodup.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Big Brother X
[edit]A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Big Brother X, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Tra (Talk) 20:32, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Street190807(7) david stoodup.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Street190807(7) david stoodup.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:26, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Coronation Street characters
[edit]Hi, Ant!
I've just nominated a bunch of characters from Coronation Street to be deleted. I have nothing against you or the show, but the characters I've nominated aren't considered "notable" by Wikipedia standards. As the creator of some of the articles, you may want to take a look at Wikipedia's notability guidelines, guidelines for fiction, and the WikiProject Soap Opera guidelines on character notability. I know that's a lot to read through, but what it boils down to is a character is notable if it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject.
You may want to stop by the AfD page and add your comments. And if you have any questions, feel free to leave me a note on my talk page. Thanks! -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 05:41, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:RoversRevampS.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:RoversRevampS.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 22:29, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Just thought I'd let you know that the photographer had other pictures of the SH4 exhibit from GC04, if that might help persuade you.[1][2] --Lenin and McCarthy | (Complain here) 03:21, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

The article Coronation Street (video game) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- WP:CRYSTALBALL. The truthfulness of the article is questionable, no reliable sources exist other than speculation exist.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. PCPP (talk) 13:02, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Corrieunderworld.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Corrieunderworld.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock(TALK) 21:55, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
