Photograph guidelines
[edit]Dear Antony Grossy, thank you for the numerous image additions. There are a few guidelines that you might want to check -
- Wikipedia:Image_use_policy - "Free images should not be watermarked, distorted, have any credits or titles in the image itself or anything else that would hamper their free use, unless, of course, the image is intended to demonstrate watermarking, distortion, titles, etc. and is used in the related article. Exceptions may be made for historic images when the credit or title forms an integral part of the composition. Historical images in the public domain sometimes are out of focus; display dye dropouts, dust or scratches; or evidence of the printing process used. All photo credits should be in a summary on the image description page. These may be tagged {{Watermark}}."
- Also for some of the images (example File:The_White_Headed_Black_Bulbul_by_Antony_Grossy.jpg), there is no date and location mentioned in the description - in the Commons file description. These are vital especially for birds and organisms in general.
I have made some of the corrections for instance, in the taxobox the [[File: ]] is not required - just the filename.jpg Shyamal (talk) 09:31, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
- I have gone through the newly added images, all of which where substituted for taxobox images. Although your images seem to be of high quality, often I judged the original image to be better; in these cases I have moved the new images into the text, where the article was of sufficient length to support additional pictures. -- Elmidae (talk) 17:31, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
