A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Apex GMAT, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:41, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hi, I added this page yesterday and thought that I was able to add a company page to Wikipedia as long as I showed my sources which in some cases was the website, for example: if I spoke about instructor hiring practices for instance. I have understood now that this is a big no no on Wikipedia and therefore would like to be unblocked. I was also in the middle of editing and still had to get to adding our 3rd party sources as I did not think the page would go to review, I just thought that it would be a quick way to save the info in the format if I just published it and came back to it today for review, updates and additions. At this time I have read the guidelines more closely and am aware that what I did went against policy and it will not happen again. I will be accessing the forum to understand from other Wikipedia users the steps to take if I want to create a company page so that I do not end up in this position again. Thank you for reading my appeal and I hope that I can grow into being a valuable member of the Wikipedia society. Apex GMAT (talk) 09:36, 23 February 2021 (UTC)

Decline reason:

You have not proposed a new username as instructed. You edited your user page, which is not article space, but a place to tell about yourself as an individual Wikipedia user in that context. You seem to have a common, fundamental misunderstanding of what Wikipedia is. Wikipedia is a encyclopedia, not a place for companies to tell about themselves. Wikipedia does not have "company pages". It has articles about companies. Those articles summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. Wikipedia is not interested in what a company wants to say about itself. Please review conflict of interest and paid editing for information on required formal disclosures. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term at least, edit about your company. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road for your Wikipedia career. If you want to be an individual, general contributor and edit about topics completely unrelated to your conflict of interest, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request.331dot (talk) 09:56, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Hi, I understood what you have said about the company page not being an option, I in fact did mean an article about the company and additionally, that I edited the User page when it was not the appropriate location. My intention was that I could start the article about my company and then others could add or delete the information, but that is not the case so I will refrain from doing so. Nevertheless, at this time I am not interested in even beginning to provide a company article because of being blocked initially, I do not want to violate the terms a second time and therefore will not be posting anything related to the company in the future. I have read that it is not a good idea to create a new account but rather to appeal the decision in order for me to continue to use this account "under a new name" to continue to edit articles, therefore I am responding to the decision to request for this. In terms of the topics that I could comment on, these include anything education related, Math and English specifically, pedagogy, online learning, as well as standardized testing, banking, including investment & private banking as I have extensive knowledge and experience in these fields. Thanks for your consideration. Apex GMAT (talk) 11:12, 23 February 2021 (UTC)
