Hello, and thanks for the message.
Since we are for the first time creating an article into Wikipedia, the concept how it’s reviewed was new to us and I have to admit that I did not read the guidelines as I should have done before starting to create the page.
According to information from your messages we have edited a new considerable shorter version with new the secondary sources. There are no festschrifts on Koivurova, but these international memberships, duties and award. Will these fulfill the requirements for valid secondary sources on notability? I have not updated the draft page with the shorter version, I’ll wait first for your comment on these secondary sources.

Comments on the page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Timo_Koivurova
[edit]Dear Caorongjin,
I read your comment on the page that I am creating on the request of Professor Timo Koivurova, Arctic Centre, University of Lapland.
I am very new on creating pages in Wikipedia, so sorry that I don't quite understand what I should, or could, do considering your comment: "Comment: Although the subject appears to be a notable academic, biographies of living people should be based largely on reliable secondary sources. Caorongjin (talk) 01:23, 29 January 2018 (UTC)"
Timo Koivurova has produced the text about himself and I am merely trying to create the page on his behalf. Does your comment mean, that since Timo has written the text about himself, it's from a primary source, and hence in order to have the page published, another reliable person should write the text so that it would be from a secondary source? If so, then how do we know who would be a reliable person to write the contents, do we need to have a confirmation, for example from a person that is already existing in the Wikipedia?
Sorry if I am asking stupid questions.
Best regards,
Arto Vitikka System Analyst Arctic Centre University of Lapland

- @Avitikka: The basic idea is that if a person is notable, someone else should be saying that not the subject themself (and not simply asserted in the Wikipedia article). This is outlined in the Wikipedia guidance on the notability of academics. For academics, I often will base things on a festschrift or on commentary from other academics writing about a topic which speak of the main subject. In the case of this subject, the section on Career and impact is perhaps the most important to highlight his notability, but also therefore the most questionable since all sources are authored by the subject. Other sections, such as Early life and education are less contestable (though currently largely unsourced), and so can generally be citing the subject's own writing (or his staff page). --Caorongjin (talk) 09:34, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
