Things to do

[edit]

Since I havent been doing much lately, I thought I would have some ideas on what I could do around the site to help. Im sure the whole of 3 people will see this.--Awesome Username 23:05, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I started by finding articles about the stuff I knew about (namely videogames) and seeing if I could contribute to the discussions on the talk pages. You also might want to check out Wikipedia:Contributing to Wikipedia. At first, you'll probably be daunted by the sheer size of Wikipedia, but we all find places where we can be useful. -- Steel 23:29, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Hive.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hive.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Homeworld Stuff

[edit]

My intention was to work on a bunch of homeworld-related articles, though after a while I stopped. That doesn't mean I'm not interested, and I've got nearly two months of free time now that I'm on break. If you're interested in colaborating, perhaps we should exchange contact information? Email or an IM program would be useful if you are interested. Contact me at tweekdragon@yahoo.com for other contact info.

Image:Leech(homeworld).jpg listed for deletion

[edit]
An image or media file that you uploaded, Image:Leech(homeworld).jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. I deleted this article, since from the content it sounds like a minor footnote in the history of the game. A one-time happening at E3 would have to be hugely important to warrant an article of its own. If the incident is relevant to the game, I suppose it could be mentioned in another article, but on its own, it didn't seem like something that could ever evolve past a stub. RE: Bentus AfD

[edit]

Hi there! To answer the question you left on my talk page, it's relevant to the discussion in the sense that IP's rarely weigh in on AfD's, as IP's are usually new users and as such, haven't got around to the inner workings of Wikipedia. As there is sometimes sockpuppetry on AfD's (in order to sway discussion one way or the other), I felt it interesting to note that almost 20% of the user's time on Wikipedia had been devoted to one AfD. hoopydinkConas tá tú? 12:03, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Worker.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Worker.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Shota003.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

File source problem with File:Post014.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Post014.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 14:32, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
