January 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page The Boys (Australian band) has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://boysaustralianband.wordpress.com/so, http://boysaustralianband.wordpress.com/, http://boysaustralianband.wordpress.com/, http://australianbandboys.wordpress.com/, http://theboysaustralianband.wordpress.com/, http://australianbandtheboys.wordpress.com/, http://australianpoprockbandtheboys.wordpress.com/, http://australianpoprockbandboys.wordpress.com/ (matching the regex rule \bwordpress\.com).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 07:02, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Boys[edit]

I have tried to assist in your edits for the article on The Boys - you may have better sources of information than I have - am happy to help if you need it. Dan arndt (talk) 10:51, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added such as to the page The Boys (Australian band) do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Clovis Sangrail (talk) 14:30, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not delete content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to The Boys (Australian band), without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Recent edits[edit]

Thank you for your recent edits on this article as BOYS MANAGEMENT.

Your edits are highly informative and give additional background for the articles, however, Wikipedia requires articles to be written in a particular style. See Manual of Style for example. When the article is about oneself or in this case a band that you were a member of e.g. The Boys then your editing may not show a Neutral Point of View and must be seen to have Verifiability. In such cases an independent reference is needed and you should Cite your sources. To reduce the possibility of Conflict of interest in such cases it is advisable to have your edits subject to modification or collaboration with an existing editor. In the case of Australian music articles such editors can be found at Wikiproject Australian Music members.

Your recent edits may be challenged, changed by subsequent editors or reverted to previous edits unless they are written according to the guidelines indicated

I have been a recent contributor to The Boys article. Whilst errors may occur in any Wikipedia article, my edits have been made in good faith, I have attempted to present the information in a Neutral Point of View and have based my edits on the references I supplied.

I would however encourage BOYS MANAGEMENT to work with editors at Wikiproject Australian Music members to reduce the risk of Conflict of Interest claims. A similar note has been placed at BOYS MANAGEMENT. Dan arndt (talk) 05:01, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
