Suggestions

[edit]

It is a good idea to add a general reference to new articles. Doing so makes them more credible and more useful. Per WP:SECONDARY, reviews or textbooks are recommended. Another source is Organic Syntheses, which is open-access. If you are planning to add several additional articles, it is always good idea to announce your intentions at the chemical talk page: Wikipedia:WikiProject Chemicals. That way other editors can help.--Smokefoot (talk) 11:28, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

Thanks for your interest in creating articles about chemicals. I'm concerned, however, that some of the articles you are creating are about subjects that aren't notable. All subjects, including articles about chemical compounds, need to meet the general notability guideline to be included in Wikipedia. Some of the recent articles you've created don't appear to meet the notability criteria. I will also reiterate Smokefoot's concerns expressed above about including references. All Wikipedia articles need to have verifiable content, but without references the content can't be verified. Please seriously consider these concerns before creating any more new articles. I suggest improving some of the existing articles about chemical compounds that could really use improvement, rather than creating more new low quality articles. Thank you. Recent article creations

[edit]

I just wanted to let you know that after a discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Chemicals, I have moved some articles that you recently created to Draft space (see Wikipedia:Drafts for details about what this means). The articles did not have sufficient content to indicate their notability, which is a requirement for all articles on Wikipedia. If you would like to expand the articles, including references that indicate how these chemicals are notable, please feel free to do so. When the articles are ready, they can be moved back to their original location. If you have any questions, please let me know. Regards, -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:27, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
